Empanada Sampler: A Colombian Classic

The Empanada Sampler is a must-try dish at Gata Golosa Astoria. These crispy, golden pastries are filled with a savory blend of beef, potatoes, and spices. They are perfect for sharing and offer a true taste of Colombian street food. Paired with a tangy dipping sauce, they make for a satisfying appetizer.

Avocado, Yucca Bread, and Patacon with Guacamole

For a refreshing and light start, the Avocado, Yucca Bread, and Patacon with Guacamole provide a burst of flavor. The creamy avocado pairs beautifully with the crispy patacon (fried plantains), while the yucca bread adds a soft, flavorful twist. Guacamole serves as the perfect dip, bringing together the textures and flavors of the dish.

Savor the Main Course: Pollo al Horno and Grilled Short Ribs

When it comes to the main course, Gata Golosa Astoria offers hearty dishes that will satisfy your cravings. Pollo al Horno (baked chicken) is seasoned with a blend of spices, slow-cooked to perfection, and served with a side of rice and fried plantains. Another standout dish is the Grilled Short Ribs, which are tender and smoky, offering a deep flavor that embodies the essence of Colombian barbecue.

Perfect Pairings: Sangria and Espresso Martini

To complement your meal, the Sangria is a popular choice. This refreshing beverage is made with red wine, fruits, and spices, offering a sweet yet tart flavor that pairs well with the savory dishes. Alternatively, if you're in the mood for something a bit stronger, the Espresso Martini provides a smooth, rich blend of coffee and alcohol, ideal for those who love a cocktail with a twist.

Sweet Endings with Alfajor

No Colombian meal is complete without a sweet treat, and Gata Golosa Astoria delivers with its delicious Alfajor. This traditional dessert is made from shortbread cookies filled with dulce de leche and dusted with powdered sugar. It's the perfect way to round off your meal with a sweet, melt-in-your-mouth experience.

First off for starters the atmosphere was beautiful! Super clean beautiful and the smell of fresh good food filled the air. The service was amazing and good with timing. Our table had a young girl with glasses and she was so kind and helped me decide what i wanted to order, she accommodated me perfectly and had excellent customer service!!

Lulu

Great customer service, loved the fresh blended passionfruit drink, very refreshing. The morcilla was dry, seemed to be sitting under the lamp a while. Wasn’t bad tasting. Has a more cumin and fat forward morcilla, instead of my blood. The beef empanada was fresh and had great flavor. My friend didn’t like it, but I didn’t like the chicken empanada but she did. The Bunelo was so good and so was the other baked goods here. Definitely worth a try.

Stopped in for lunch and had an amazing sancocho. They have cocktails too. If you’re a fan of rum like i am , try their Enamorados Daiquiri. Very yummy and refreshing , perfect cocktail for fall.

Best Margarita in Astoria. Tell me I’m wrong! They use fresh ingredients. Not frozen either.
